Why Does Prenatal Essentials Methyl-Free work?
This product contains non-methylated folate in the form of folinic acid (calcium folinate). It also has non-methylated vitamin B12 in two active forms, hydroxocobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. Your body converts these non-methyl forms into the forms required for methylation. For example, folinic acid undergoes three enzymatic steps before it is converted into 5-MTHF (methylfolate). Adenosylcobalamin and hydroxocobalamin are both readily metabolized into cobalamin. The body uses this cobalamin to make the methylcobalamin needed for methylation.*
