NIGELLA SATIVA OIL (NSO) is widely used in various traditional Eastern and Ayurvedic systems of medicine as a therapeutic tool for many different ailments and conditions. Nigella sativa seeds have been used medicinally in the Middle East and Southeast Asia for over 2,000 years. Black cumin seeds are mentioned in the Bible and the Koran where they are referred to as “the blessing seed,” created by God in order to relieve difficult medical conditions. Black seeds were also buried with Egyptian pharaohs to aid in the afterlife journey. TriNutra has, for the first time, been able to naturally standardize Black Seed Oil’s key phytonutrient, thymoquinone.
TriNutra has developed a Nigella sativa breeding program to yield high-concentration thymoquinone varieties (non-GMO) that thrive in the Israeli climate and yield 2-3 times the thymoquinone content of other varieties. TriNutra’s black seed oil, ThymoQuin, is extracted from these plants via slow, cold-press extraction and is the first cold-press oil standardized for thymoquinone 3%.
